JUNIOR
SAILING
WBYC operates an instructional sailing program for sailors age 7 (entering 2nd grade) to age eighteen. Registration for the youth program is available to both members and non-members.
Our summer program typically offers three levels of lessons; Introduction to Sailing; Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced Optis; and Introduction and Advanced 420s.
Summer 2026
We are looking forward to our Junior Sailing Program this summer! Our program is scheduled to run from June 29th - August 13th. You can find a description of all of our classes below.

The Blizzard of ‘26 threw our schedule for a loop! This summer, we are again requesting that all sailors commit to at least two weeks of sailing. However, the first week of the program will be a 1-week session instead of a 2-week session.

We will be using ClubSpot for registration and payment this year. We hope you will find this new platform easy to use.
If you are registering more than one child, there is a $25 discount. The coupon code for this discount is SIBLING. There is also a discount that will be automatically applied when you register for more than one session. Please read our HANDBOOK before registering.

When you register as a member on ClubSpot, please use 1234 as your member number.
FYI: Boats are provided for the “Learn to Sail”, Hybrid racing class, and 420 sailing classes. Opti sailors are invited to bring their own Opti to lessons. If you do not own an Opti, please plan to register for the class choice that includes a boat rental. Please know that this rental fee does not mean that your child will use the same boat each day. It simply guarantees access to a boat.
Finally, please SAVE THE DATES!
Sunday, June 28th: “Meet and Greet Ice Cream Social”
Saturday, July 18th: BINGO BY THE BAY fundraiser
Saturday, August 22nd: BINGO BY THE BAY fundraiser

meet the SAILING Instructors
We are very excited to welcome Kaylee Good back as our sailing director.
We would also like to welcome (back) Tommy Bushy as our assistant sailing director. A former WBYC sailor and instructor, Tommy comes to us with a tremendous amount of experience and enthusiasm for teaching kids how to sail.
